We all know installing AMP on Windows is a nightmare. And a thing goes wrong and you get the wildest error. MySql wont let you authenticate, you dont know which my.ini entry, which php.ini entry or which httpd.conf is causing the problem. If all goes well, phpMyAdmin will give another headache.
On my laptop, I have been facing only problems with Linux, and installing on Windows didn’t work out as well.
On Linux, I installed RHEL 9.0, Apache is running, MySQL is running, PHP is running as well. But http://localhost/ gives 403 - Forbidden, why am I forbidden to use my own PC? No answers! No help found so far!
One of the guys at www.AntiOnline.Com came to rescue and pointed me to phpDev, wo, in minutes, I am up and running with AMPP, wow!
Now I can actually work on the projects, rather than trying to configure LAMPP. I wasted my 2 days setting it up manually, phpDev did it in 1 minute!!
go ahead and download it at: http://www.firepages.com.au/
It is open-source, even tho, a Microsoft fan, I recommend this. :p
